On November 6th, the City of Key West presented a proclamation to Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of the Florida Keys in honor of National Home Health and Hospice Month.

National Home Health and Hospice Month promotes awareness of two important areas of medicine. Home health care is specialized care that allows people to remain in their residence of choice while receiving necessary medical care. Hospice care is the compassionate care of terminally ill patients and their families.

VNA/Hospice is the only non-profit provider of both home health and hospice care in the Florida Keys. The professionals of VNA/Hospice provide skilled home health care and hospice services to the residents of our island communities.

“Recognition by the City of Key West for our efforts in home health and hospice care,” said VNA/Hospice President & CEO Jody Gross, “is a testament to our contributions and work in these areas of healthcare.”

It was a hot night in the city on October 12th for the Lower Keys Women’s Club Racy But Tasty fundraising event at the Doubletree Resort in Key West.

The Magic Conch’s all-male revue dancers burned up the catwalk for an extremely enthusiastic audience. The dinner, show and auction raised a whopping $17k to support the programs and services of Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of the Florida Keys, the fortunate recipient – for two years – of the funds raised at the gala.
